For anyone exploring Kaileys Consortium for the first time and wanting to understand who we are and how we work.
A: Kaileys Consortium offers a comprehensive range of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) services including technical training, statutory training, management and operational training, HSE audits and assessments, e-learning, and safety consultancy. We also offer the Vital Signs Project — specialised training and support for Deaf employees in the workplace.
A: Yes. We work with organisations of all sizes — from small businesses to large corporates and parastatals. Our programmes are tailored to the specific needs, industry, and risk profile of each client regardless of scale.
A: We have served clients across a wide range of industries including construction and engineering, manufacturing, agriculture and horticulture, floriculture, hospitality and tourism, healthcare, education, logistics and transportation, banking, and government institutions. If your industry involves people and risk — we can help.
A: Yes. We operate from offices in both Nairobi and Naivasha and deploy teams to client sites across Kenya. We have also delivered services in Uganda and Rwanda and continue to grow our presence across East Africa.

A: We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance to allow adequate time for preparation, logistics coordination, and ensuring the right trainer or auditor is matched to your organisation. For larger engagements or multi-site deployments, earlier booking is advisable.

What your organisation needs to have in place before a Kaileys Consortium training session.
A: Three things: first, identify the employees who will be attending and have them available and pulled from their departments on the day. Second, secure a suitable venue that can comfortably accommodate the full group — this can be on your premises or an external location. Third, ensure any equipment required for the specific training is prepared and available in advance. Our team will advise you on any equipment requirements when you book.
A: This depends on the type of training. Practical and technical sessions such as Working at Heights or Confined Space Entry have smaller group sizes to ensure effective, hands-on learning. Classroom-based statutory training sessions such as First Aid or Fire Safety can accommodate larger groups. We will advise on the ideal group size when you enquire.
A: For on-site training, the client provides the venue. We ask that it comfortably accommodates all attendees and, where practical sessions are involved, that there is adequate space for demonstrations and exercises. For off-site or open training sessions, Kaileys Consortium handles venue arrangements.
A: Please let us know at the time of booking. Through our Vital Signs Project — a partnership with Vital Signs Safety Foundation — we work with Sign Language interpreters who are specifically trained in HSE terminology. This ensures every employee, regardless of hearing ability, receives the full benefit of the training. We are committed to inclusive safety training and to leaving no one behind.
A: Our training combines slides, practical demonstrations and interactive activities. We believe safety training should reflect real working conditions — not just theory. Sessions are tailored to your industry, your specific risk environment, and the nature of your workforce. We do not deliver generic, one-size-fits-all training.
A: Statutory training covers programmes required by law or regulation — such as First Aid, Fire Safety, and Safety and Health Committee training. Certificates for these programmes are issued by the relevant government authority. Technical training covers specialised practical skills — such as Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Forklift Operation, and MEWP — and certificates are issued by Kaileys Consortium or by the accrediting body, such as IPAF for MEWP training.

What your organisation needs to have ready before a Kaileys Consortium audit.
A: Each audit type has its own specific list of required documents. Health audits, fire safety audits, legal compliance audits, air quality monitoring surveys and risk assessments each require different documentation. When you book an audit with us, we will send you the specific document checklist for your audit type so you know exactly what to prepare
A: Yes. Your organisation must be registered with the relevant regulatory bodies before an audit can be conducted. For environmental audits specifically, you must be registered on NEMA’s Environmental Information System. If you are unsure about your registration status, contact us and our team will guide you.
A: We conduct health audits, fire safety audits, legal compliance audits, air quality monitoring surveys, environmental audits, and risk assessments (HIRA). Each audit is conducted by a qualified auditor matched to the specific requirements and industry of your organisation.
A: Yes. Safety is a progressive journey — not a destination you arrive at fully prepared. We understand that many organisations are at different stages of their compliance journey and we do not expect perfection before we walk through your door. Our team comes to assess where you are, identify the gaps, and give you a clear roadmap for getting to where you need to be. That is the purpose of an audit.
A: This depends on the size of your organisation, the number of sites involved, and the type of audit. A single-site audit typically takes between half a day and a full day. We will give you a clear time estimate when you book.

What to expect when the Kaileys Consortium team arrives at your site.
A: Our team aims to be on site by 7:30am for both training sessions and audits. Punctuality is a standard we hold ourselves to because we understand that delays have a direct impact on your operations and compliance timelines.
A: From the moment we arrive, we get straight to work. Our trainer will set up, brief the group, and deliver a practical, professional session tailored to your employees and your working environment. Training is not generic — it reflects the real risks and conditions your team faces every day.
A: Our audit process follows four structured phases. Phase one is the introduction — we meet your team, confirm the scope, and establish the process. Phase two is the desktop review — we ask relevant questions and verify your documentation. Phase three is the site walkthrough — we physically inspect your premises to confirm that what is on paper matches what is on the ground. Phase four is the closing meeting — we sit down with your team and deliver direct, honest feedback on our findings, highlight areas for improvement, and recommend the steps needed to achieve compliance.
A: Both. Our team provides verbal feedback and initial findings at the closing meeting on the day of the audit. The full written report, with detailed findings and recommendations, is delivered within two weeks of the audit — provided all required documentation has been submitted.
A: This depends on the size and complexity of the engagement. For most training sessions, one or two trainers will be present. For audits, the team size is matched to the scope of the audit. We will confirm the team composition when you book.
Have a question about what to expect on the day? Call us on +254 724 097 056 and we will walk you through it.
What happens after your training or audit is complete.
A: We deliver the full audit report within two weeks of the audit, provided all required documentation has been received from the client. Once you receive the report, you review it and provide feedback on the recommended areas of improvement. We then finalise the report and submit it to the relevant regulatory authority.
A: Once the finalised audit report is submitted to the relevant authority — such as NEMA or DOSH — approval typically takes up to one month. Timelines may vary depending on the regulatory body and the nature of the audit.
A: For statutory training programmes — including First Aid, Fire Safety, and Safety and Health Committee training — certificates are issued by the relevant government authority. For all other training programmes, including technical training such as Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, and management skills, certificates are issued directly by Kaileys Consortium. IPAF MEWP certificates are issued by IPAF, the international accrediting body.
A: Certificates are typically issued within one to two months of training completion. For statutory training, the timeline depends on the issuing government authority. We will keep you updated on the progress of your certificates.
A: Yes. Several of our programmes carry internationally recognised accreditation. Our IPAF MEWP certification is globally recognised. We are also accredited by NITA, NFPA, NEMA, NCA, CMPA, and the British Safety Council. Details of accreditations are available on our website and in our company profile.
A: You can verify any Kaileys Consortium certificate directly on our website at Kaileys Verification System Enter the certificate details to confirm authenticity.
A: This is normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Our closing meeting will outline exactly what needs to be addressed and in what order of priority. We provide a clear, practical roadmap — not just a list of failures. Safety is a progressive journey and every organisation we work with starts somewhere.
A: Yes. Follow-up is a core part of how we work. We check in to confirm that our recommendations are being implemented — whether that involves additional training, equipment upgrades, design changes, or process improvements such as waste management or water treatment systems for environmental compliance. If you are unsure where to source required equipment or materials, we advise you on where to access them locally.
A: Yes. We offer a range of e-learning courses that can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. Our e-learning programmes are ideal for organisations with distributed teams or for individuals who prefer flexible, self-paced learning. Visit kaileysconsortium.com/e-learning-online-courses for the full list of available courses.
