Seven Years of Growth, Leadership, and HSE Excellence

A Journey Defined by Purpose, Quality, and Leadership.

Celebrating Getrude Wambua’s 7-Year Journey at Kaileys Consortium.

Seven years ago, I walked into Kaileys Consortium not fully understanding what I was walking into.

I knew the role. I understood the title. But I had no idea how much this journey would shape the person I am today, professionally and personally.

What began as an opportunity became something far greater. A calling.

Today, as Quality Control and Logistics Manager at Kaileys Consortium, I lead a team of over 20 professionals across training and auditing. My role is to ensure that every trainer and auditor deployed to a client is not only technically qualified, but the right fit, matched to the client’s industry, their operational risks, and their specific compliance needs. Because in HSE, the wrong trainer in the wrong room is not just an inconvenience. It can mean the difference between knowledge that sticks and knowledge that doesn’t. And knowledge that doesn’t stick costs lives.

Celebrating 7 years of leadership and impact at Kaileys Consortium.

I also oversee logistics, working closely with our drivers and field teams to ensure punctual, reliable deployment to client sites across Kenya and beyond. In this industry, a late arrival is never just a late arrival. Compliance timelines are tight. Operations don’t pause. And our clients trust us to show up, on time, prepared, and ready to deliver.

The lesson that has defined my seven years is one I come back to constantly:

Compliance without quality has little impact.

Anyone can check a box. True HSE compliance is built through consistency, accountability, honest guidance, and a genuine commitment to protecting people, not just satisfying a regulator. I have seen organisations with impressive documentation and dangerous workplaces. I have also seen organisations with modest paperwork and deeply embedded safety cultures. The difference is never the paperwork. It is always the people and the standards that those people choose to hold themselves to.

Leading a team has taught me things no training ever could. The responsibility of developing people, of spotting potential, setting high standards, and creating an environment where accountability is expected, and growth is possible, is the part of this role I am most proud of and most humbled by.

A milestone built on dedication, teamwork, and a passion for workplace safety excellence.

There have been hard days. Days where logistics fell apart, where the pressure of getting everything right felt overwhelming, where I questioned whether I was doing enough. But looking back, those were the days that built me.

Seven years later, I am more certain than ever that this work matters. The clients who trust us with their people’s safety. The trainers and auditors who show up every day and deliver excellence on the ground. The drivers who get teams to the site on time, every time. It takes all of us.

To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you. The standard we hold ourselves to at Kaileys Consortium is not just professional. It is personal. And I am proud to be part of a team that understands the difference.

Here is to seven years and to everything still ahead.  Know Safety. No Pain.
